The township’s new police department is projected to open in late 2016 and the station will serve as the police headquarters for the Kalamazoo Township Police Department.
The $47 million project is designed to be one of the most technologically advanced law enforcement facilities in the state of Michigan, according to David Ricci, township supervisor.
“The new police station will provide an exciting look into the future of how the future of law enforcement will function and serve the people of Kalamazoo Township,” Ricci said in a news release. “Our new police department will have a significant impact on our community by being proactive and keeping residents secure. Most importantly, it will provide a place for our officers to develop and grow in an environment that allows them to focus on the people of our community.”
Newly-elected township supervisor Jim Marsh said the township is proud of its police department and its new station.
“It’s a privilege and a duty for me to be able to work with the township employees to build this amazing facility, and I’m looking forward to working with them to make this one of the most advanced police stations in the State of Michigan,” Marsh said.
The project will include a state-of-the-art training facility as well as offices for administration, dispatch, criminal investigation, personnel and records.

While I was away doing a three week course, my partner decided to learn how to use dropbox, twitter and blogger.
My answer to her challenge was to photograph and write up a chat ( no text) about each day of the training ( both the rich and poor experiences).
I’ll start with the rich experiences – which were a great help to me
Day 1
I had a coach for the first time in my life and we worked for three and a half hours on this together with Dave from the Institute.
By that evening I was able to hold off on my craving for pizza!
Day 2
On day 2 we watched Neal Copeland’s presentation (it’s long but worth watching) and we were given an assignment to watch a webinar presentation on diaphragmatic breathing.
Day 3
We watched the follow up webinar (this is what really helped me) and we had to post our breathe method in 140 characters to twitter.
Day 4
We watched the final webinar together and completed a ‘doing the method’ exercise.
Day 5
I had a short exercise class with Brenda (I just had to squeeze in an exercise class).
Day 6
We recorded the first episode of the Power Hour and we then posted the text online. We were then asked to post our thoughts on the notes we received.
By this stage we were making good progress and I was chuffed with our efforts.
Day 7
… and day 7 was the big day. Our coach was coming to visit and we were to do a guided meditation, which is always a really challenging. But we got it right – our guide was really, really funny – it was a good morning.
We also had lunch with our coach, where we got on a lot about bike helmets and anti-theft locks… I was really impressed with my coach and am going to do this again, because he is pretty awesome.
The poor experiences…
There were poor experiences too:

This day was rubbish. We got into a huge argument and left our coach 30 minutes after he arrived at the studio. I’m still really pissed off about it – we’d done the complete live session

When I think of the make up of any customer successful or not, I think of two things:
Focus. The focus is on WHAT (and WHY). It is laser-like.
The people and the processes.
As I have said above. I think you need a good marketing strategy before you start. The strategy is to get the marketing paid for first before the product. That also means; you need to spend more time working on the product and less time worrying about how to market it.
Keep in mind that unless you have a niche, or a very big following, and you have the budget to do something special to attract them, you aren’t guaranteed a return on your investment.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Marketing is about investing time and money. You need to spend a lot of time on your customers. Not just product, but customer.
And that’s the point I want to make here today. Just like I always say about discipline in life, it’s about investing in yourself. When you do this, it’s pays off. And, it’s exciting!
I recently interviewed an entrepreneur who had just started a business. He was very excited, told me he would be working with two other people. He just found a way to get a business idea off the ground.
I know people like him who have done the same thing. My guess is they approached it in a similar way as I did.
Now here is the thing. I was so impressed with this person and his story I asked him to come back after I spoke with him. And he did, again. I had to double check I was talking to the same person.
He did tell me he had just launched his new business and had no customers.
I asked him why I should go back and he said he wanted to start something where he would be able to work closely with two people.
Now here’s what this man does not know. He will have to get two people to partner with him. That’s something I have never done.
But first he needs to build his customer base. And he will have to market his product.
To me, what he needs to do right now is look in a mirror. He needs to ask himself one simple question.

Windows XP and newer

You need the free, portable version of Photoshop, not the boxed version. Once you download it, run the setup and click through the installation wizard.
The normal options will put Adobe Photoshop Elements on your desktop. Click Next to continue.
Choose your installation folder
Since you can run only one version of Photoshop at a time, you need to decide which one to use. The simplest way to do this is to install Photoshop and then Photoshop Elements as different programs. You can open both simultaneously and choose whichever one you want to use.
However, some features of Photoshop elements are only available if they run under Windows. I assume the parsing is the most time consuming part. But if it is not you can split it up into several steps:
Read the header of the file (definitely not the parsing part, but may be some sanity checking or preparation of the data you may need):

Refresh the header, because you have parsed it:

You can easily share the directories or files using MMC. Here’s the steps:

Click on the Inbound Rules tab
Click on New Rule
Select basic filtering rules under “Action”
Select ‘allow this program through Windows Firewall with Advanced Security” under “Protocol”

The “Selection Colorize” dialogue box allows you to select colors inside the selection, which may be useful for recoloring areas inside selections.

Convert to Selection
Convert to Selection converts a shape into a selection. You can also perform other tasks, such as extracting the shape to an outer layer.
The Convert to Selection tool is quite useful, especially when working with intricate drawings or objects.
Select by Lasso
Select by Lasso enables you to create lasso-type selections, based on a polygon’s corner or center point.
The tools handle any type of shape you choose, even oddly shaped ones. You can even create complex selections from strokes in a Pen tool.

You will have to learn a new workflow, as it contains features that are not easy to find in the standard version of Photoshop. In order to use the latest version of Adobe Photoshop, you will need to update your Adobe Creative Cloud.

When you exit the application, you are notified with the following message: “You have now used the trial version of Adobe Photoshop Elements. You may continue using the product, but in order to continue you must enter a monthly subscription to the Creative Cloud service, which you can choose at this time”.
Click ‘yes’ if you want to continue, or click ‘no’ if you do not want to continue.
When you click ‘yes’ to subscribe, Elements downloads the Adobe Subscription Manager (ASM) and installs it. You must then log in to your Creative Cloud account to subscribe.
Login to your Creative Cloud account on the right of the screen. Enter your username and password, then click on ‘Sign in’ on the top right.
As soon as you click on ‘Sign in’, you are redirected to the main page of the program. On the left, you will see your subscription subscription, as well as your current subscription.
In the middle of the screen, you will see your default storage location for your Creative Cloud. On the right side, you will see the tabs for editing, presets, and adjustments.
Save your files to the new location of your hard drive
