Here are a few reasons why I think the Laravel framework fits your needs better:

Performance: Laravel just works a lot better than Symfony for most projects (including mine).
Growth: The same Laravel Framework will work for all future projects that you write in addition to the ones you are currently using. This means that you won’t have to rewrite the boilerplate code when you jump from Laravel 4 to Laravel 5.
Laravel is also open-source and follows a fairly predictable release cycle. You won’t have to go through a process in which you maintain Symfony2 versions and update them on each new release of Symfony2. You can upgrade to the new version of the Laravel Framework as soon as it comes out.
I will admit that I am biased in that I love Laravel. I also happen to think that it is much easier to work with a framework than to code.

I continue to learn and grow in my own real estate career while working at a big firm.
