GeoMapApp is an earth science exploration and visualization application that is continually being expanded as part of the Marine Geoscience Data System (MGDS) at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University.
This powerful program provides direct access to the Global Multi-Resolution Topography (GMRT) compilation. How to use Sockets in a Libgdx/Java application with Platform related code?

I am trying to use a Socket with Libgdx/Java to open a connection to a client. I have done this with Java before using the AWT/Swing libraries.
So far I have tried:

Using AbstractXIOSimpleServer, which, as far as I can tell, is a dead end.
Using SocketServer, which I have extended in order to implement the necessary services. The issue is, when the client connects and sends its first character, a null message is returned to the client.

In the paper, the “institutionalization” and “de-institutionalization” of administrative divisions in Sweden will be used as a framework for exploring the bureaucracies of different types of administrative efficiency. For Cuffee, known as Ciara, it was the third time she was sent to trial, the first for the 2008 death of her boyfriend, Morris Burks, who was shot by police.

“We know that Ciara was forced to use physical force to protect herself and her child,” her attorney, Mark Meyer, said. “The response was excessive.”

But, prosecutors say the young mom is lying.

“We’re talking about a mother who had an opportunity to tell the police what happened and elected not to,” Deputy State’s Attorney Jennifer Esserman said.

In 2008, Ciara was being chased from Burks’ house by two people, neighbors who said she was not there. But, she refused to tell police about them.

In 2009, Ciara was convicted of assault and battery and sentenced to three years in prison. Cuffee claims she had been beaten by a cellmate.

In 2011, she was found guilty of manslaughter and sentenced to 20 years.

“I feel like I was framed from day one,” Ciara said.

A Judge has to weigh the conflicting testimony and decide whom to believe.

“Jurors are going to make a credibility determination,” Meyer said. “They’re going to come back with a verdict that they believe is supported by the evidence and the law.�

Foley’s hip injury is worse than had been reported as being, and that after multiple operations has left the Broncos coach unable to work on the sideline, a change that Coach Mike Shanahan says will have an impact on the way he operates for the rest of the season.

“It just makes it harder,” said Shanahan, who had an X-ray taken on the coach’s old hip after the game. “It is getting worse, just not getting better. That’s where the problem is. It’s real awkward, awkward to coach. It just changes his tactics a little bit.

“If I can’t lean on the guy and I have to walk to him instead of run, that’s hard to do. It’s not the speed. It’s the mechanics of it.”

Foley has been taking pain-killing injections for a week and a half, but he is done for the season, Shanahan said.

Suffering from a sore hip for a couple of years, Foley played most of the Broncos’ playoff game last January but missed the rest of the season. He was, however, on the sideline as the team beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Super Bowl.

Shanahan thought the injury had gone away until the end of the season.

“This should have been a minor setback,” he said. “It’s something that could have been avoided. I didn’t think it was as serious as it was and obviously it turns out to be far worse.”

I thought that it was a muscle injury? I’m not sure that you can say it’s ended his season. I also thought that he’d be back by now. I am wondering if he has used his hip for too long now that he is injured, that it’s started wearing on it?

I don’t know, I haven’t followed his rehab well enough to know.
