If we know that the car is coming up, we’d expect the price to go up, right? Well, no, at least not in the short-term. We can’t see the car at any point before early 2016, but could expect something like £50k – £60k. That might be a little more than what people really think is in it for them, but it’s not a huge deal. However, with things like the new TT3 regulations in the pipeline we could see the price shoot up again if the people who want to buy it want something super-quick.

Would you buy an E92 with 10 less down-force? Probably not. Would you buy one for a bit less than the standard one? Probably.

No word on whether the car will go on sale earlier than the middle of 2016, but the good news is that it’s almost confirmed.

Luke Smith, BMW’s Z4 chief engineer, talked a lot about the ongoing developments in an interview, saying that the goal is for the vehicle to be a little quicker and a little less prone to oversteer than its predecessor.
