Custom Cell in UICollectionView returning nil when specified

I have a fairly straightforward custom collection view cell.
I have a collection view with a custom cell, and a UITextView in the cell.
When the text view in the cell has text in it, I want to save that text so it can be returned later, and then display that text in the UITextView.
I get nil when I access the view after the text view has been reloaded.
This is my code:
